[PODCAST] Black Maternal Healthcare and Reproductive Justice, with Tekara Gainey
Black Maternal Healthcare and Reproductive Justice, with Tekara Gainey
Health is political.
Bodies are political.
Birth is political.
Business is political.
To be abundantly clear: politics will continue to be cornerstone of the health and fitness coaching that I do, which primarily serves womxn identifying, pregnant and postpartum people.
Furthermore, I assert this business as one with intersectional feminist values.
And, as I’ve directly learned and continue to learn from Black womxn and folks of colour, racial justice is a feminist issue.
Today, we are re-airing an episode of the To Birth and Beyond podcast called:
Tekara Gainey runs Black Moon Doula Services. She is a Black woman. A reproductive justice advocate. A doula who offers full spectrum, inclusive care in the United States.
Black and POC birth workers are essential for the health, safety, care, and lives of Black pregnant and postpartum people, and moms.
2). White folks: pay Tekara.
Thank you, Tekara.
