See the best women’s health and fitness articles, blogs, and info from the past week and kick off the new week ahead with some tips to take your health up a notch.

This is a weekly TOP 3 list (that’s it – who has time for more?) where you will see women’s health pro’s highlighted whom I respect and trust. They are experts in fields such as pregnancy, postpartum, conception, exercise, babies, pelvic floor and core, strength training, body image, nutrition, and more!

1). Understanding Diastasis Recti: Part 2

“Whether it is during a workout, or lifting your kids at home – try to minimize movements that require excessive bracing, breath-holding or straining. Take the weight down a notch if you need to, and EXHALE as you lift.”

If you’re pregnant or a mom, this article is a must-read from pelvic floor physical therapist, Sami Cattach.

2). Attention, Men! How You Can Support Girls Gone Strong

“This space was literally created because women needed their own space. Respect that. Girls Gone Strong can be a powerful resource for men to better understand issues women face. Use it to learn and support the women in your lives in a meaningful way.”

Fantastic article from Erin Brown (for Girls Gone Strong) on how men can help support, respect, and encourage women.

3). The Problems with the Birth Control Pill, Including Nutritional Deficiencies

“Guess where it got me? Feeling worse – the pills increased my incidence of headaches, anxiety, caused digestive problems and totally killed my sex drive. Of course, at the time I never in my wildest dreams thought the Pill and my health problems could possibly be linked, but they were.”

As someone who was on the pill for 10+ years to try to ‘balance my hormones’ (UM, NOPE), this article, from Joy McCarthy, really spoke to me.
