Stop Sucking Your Belly In
Patriarchy taught us to always be flattening our bellies. Smaller. Forever.
White supremacy taught us to tighten things up. Suck it in. Don’t let it be round. ‘Perfect’ your body.
Be small. Avoid bigness and fatness at all costs. Get a flat, strong, tight stomach by keeping it in.
Shoulders back and bellies in for the “best” posture.
Burn all of this bullshit.
For many of my pregnant and postpartum clients, it starts with the realization that they (ME TOO) are chronically holding muscle tension in their abdomen.
And, the resulting symptoms that they are experiencing could be resulting from it.
- Constipation. Bloat. Bulging in your vagina. Low back always aching.
- Feeling like you’re wearing your shoulders for earrings, or that you haven’t take a full breath the last decade.
It’s not getting you “better” posture or a stronger core.
Let it down, let it round, and let it go.
And, let me talk you through it here.
