    What is the point of this workout challenge?

    This is a practice in HEALTHY discipline. NOT motivation. The intention of the 5×5 Fitness Challenge is to get you moving your body in a physical way, consistently. You are going to push through the discomfort in starting the workout for 5 days straight. 5 minutes later? You are going to have completed it. We are building confidence in our ability to START — even when you don’t fully feel like it — and to experience all the benefits that come from that.

    When are the live workouts?

    The live workouts are each day from Monday, January 23rd – Friday, January 27th at 12pm EST (9am PST). 

    You’ll have the opportunity to meet me LIVE each day of the challenge so I can coach you through the workout, if you want the gentle accountability to GET IT DONE.

    How long are the workouts?

    5 minutes – FOR REAL! Each workout will take 5 minutes to complete. These session are short, but SPICY! Your heart rate, breathing rate, energy, strength, endurance, and mood will be up just from these 5 minutes alone.

    What equipment do I need?

    You will want a medium-strength resistance band, a mini loop band, a lighter (10-15lbs) set of dumbbells, plus a moderate-to-heavier set of dumbbells (20-35lbs). 

    Can I do these workouts in pregnancy?

    If you have been cleared to exercise in your pregnancy from your primary medical provider, then you can partake in these workouts! These workouts are designed in an interval training manner – the are strength training based, but will also elicit a cardiovascular response. 

    I’m 6-weeks postpartum and have been cleared for exercise. Can I do these workouts?

    You can participate if you are early postpartum! If you are at least 6 weeks postpartum and have been cleared for exercise. Because these workouts are short in duration, you can start with this lower volume of exercise and see how your body responds! These mini sessions will be a nice boost for your physical comfort and mental health in your day. 

    I’ve been strength training for multiple years. Will these workouts be too easy for me?

    The beauty of these workouts is that you can dial them UP for more challenge, or dial them DOWN for less intensity. They are strength training and interval training based: you can move with more quickness and weight to increase the difficulty, should you want to push yourself harder! 

    I can't make the live workouts due to my timezone / work / life. Is it worth signing up still?

    Absolutely! You do not need to complete the workouts with the group – they are yours to do however it fits best into your life. Use them as a standalone workout at lunchtime, tack them onto the end of your normal workout for a “finisher”, or use them periodically for years to come.

    PLUS, if you’ve been curious to see how I design workout programs for pregnancy, postpartum, or parenthood this will give you an excellent example!

    The hardest part is starting.

    This is a practice in starting AND committing to a supportive plan. If you want to exercise regularly through parenthood, you’ll need to start 98% of your workouts BEFORE you feel motivated.

    Just start. And, I’ll be there for you every step of the way!
