Frequently Asked Questions
You probably have a lot of questions. Here are all the answers.
Is this information useful if I work with moms who have older kids?
Yes! This information is key and necessary when working in fitness for all moms, regardless of the age of children. I always consider postpartum to be forever, not just 3, 6, or 12 months after birth. There are considerations you need to take into account when coaching moms of any stage, including diastasis recti, incontinence, good breathing techniques, pelvic organ prolapse, and more.
I’m not a trainer. Can I take this course?
Absolutely. Anyone looking to gain more in-depth knowledge of postpartum recovery and return to fitness is welcome to take the course. Moms, physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, rehab providers, body workers, barre instructors, yoga teachers – you’re all welcome to join!
How long will this course take to complete?
If you keep up with Modules on a weekly basis, expect to commit 3 hours per week to the material, for 10 weeks. Remember that there is no specific date at which you must complete the exam, so you’re welcome to go at your own pace to learn in the manner that is most effective for you.
What if I miss a live call in the Group Mentorship program?
That’s ok! You can submit your questions in advance of the ‘office hours’ session. I will email the recording to you afterwards.
Is this certification credited for Continuing Education Credits?
Yes! NASM, ACE, and Can-Fit-Pro have awarded continuing education credits for the Postnatal Fitness Specialist Academy. If you are certified through a different organization, you will receive a certificate of completion upon successful passing of the final exam, which you can submit to your governing body for review to be awarded continuing education credits. If you need any additional help with this process, Jessie will be happy to give further information.
Is a payment plan available? Is financial assistance available?
Yes! An instalment plan with 4-monthly payments is available for the Self-Study and Masterclass Tracks. Please note that all Canadians using the payment plans MUST pay via Stripe rather than PayPal.
Financial accessibility is important to us. If you are needing financial assistance, please contact us!
What can I do with the certification when I complete it?
– Coach a mom immediately after pregnancy confidently
– Understand how to assess and treat diastasis recti
– Know how to modify workouts for a client with pelvic organ prolapse
– Be comfortable progressing a client back to running post-pregnancy
– Know which health professionals to refer out to if mom is presenting some symptoms
– Know how to program effective strength training workouts for moms.
– Being a Certified Postnatal Fitness Specialist will set you apart in the fitness industry with a niched and elite expertise in coaching moms.
When will the Academy open again for registration?
The next class of the Academy will open for registration sometime mid-2021.
I still have questions.
