Wordless Wednesday is back in 2014! This is the first edition since my move to Calgary, and a whole bunch of new stuff has been going on in my world. I’ve wrapped up the move and what’s been happening in my life lately:

1. Moving. Sucked big time. Obvs, I had a box just for wine. How else would one get through a move?!

2. Leaving my prenatal and mama clients in Edmonton. The worst 🙁 But, I know they’re in great hands so that makes it a little less painful 🙂

2. Alberta drives and skies. Been taking some drives through the mountains and seeing some bangin’ sky lines and sunsets. The colours are magic.

3. Soups. Cold weather = eating lots o’ soup. Potato, bacon, leek soup is my fave flavour right now. Can’t beat it.

4. Randy’s grad and becoming a full-fledged FF. Randy’s new career as a firefighter has officially begun and is off to a great start! Firefighting runs in my family, so it’s pretty much required to be involved in some way 😉

5. Workouts. Throughout the end of December and beginning of January I did very little weight training. 2 reasons: I needed a break and I didn’t have easy access to a gym. Back into the gym consistently now, and lifting about 3x/week. Having FUN and playing with lots of chins/pulls lately.

6. FitBit Walks. I’ve been striving to hit about 10K steps a day on days, especially when I’m not in the gym. It equals out to about 75-90 minutes of walking, which I typically do by just leisurely walking and running errands.

7. Major schedule change. My schedule over the last month has been 100% different from what it was when I was living in Edmonton. And, that is a good thing. I was running on empty…maybe less than empty, when we left for Calgary. I was at the gym training clients from 7am-7pm, plus supporting my online clients and writing after and in between these hours. Plus, that whole trying to eat nutritious foods and exercise thing. I actually lost weight throughout December because I just wasn’t eating enough and wasn’t weight training as I normally would. Not cool.

I contributed to this article from Girls Gone Strong which details a ‘day in the life’ of a fitness professional. I go over what my new schedule is becoming more like, but this isn’t even everyday. I’ll primarily be training clients 3 days a week. My leftover time is going to devoted to my online members, writing, and relaxxxxxing.

8. Cupcakes. Because I left behind my nanaimo bars from Planet Organic in Edmonton, and obviously needed a new local treat 😉 So, it’s cupcakes and they’re GD delicious.

9. New car! I barely EVER drive. In fact, we had our last car for about 8 months and I never drove it. HA. I haven’t drove a car for 6-7 months since I was back home in Kingston. I either walk or take transit most everywhere I have to go, and I like it like that. I’ve taken this baby out for a spin, and dare I say…I kinda like it.

10. New gym! 2110 Fitness in southwest Calgary is where my new gym-home is. Such a great space and team. The part I love best, is that clients can come in for personal training, group classes or train on their own with a program designed by yours truly, making it extremely accessible for many people. This is the future of personal training, in my opinion. If you know anyone in the Calgary area who’s looking, please have them contact me at info@jmgfitnessconsulting.com.
